Media of Color: Indiana University
In J460 Media of Color: Ethnic and Indigenous Communications Worldwide, students are exposed to the ways that various indigenous and ethnic groups focus and adapt media to suit their needs, including understanding what media are, how they operate, and what kinds of functions they serve.
Students explore aboriginal and Maori media in Sydney, Cairns and Alice Springs, Australia. By traveling to these locations, students will experience media through the lens of a different culture.
Professor Steve Raymer teaches the class, but Interim Dean Michael Evans will lead students through Australia during spring break.

Why You Should Travel Young
Jeff Goins writes a great article for Converge Magazine about the challenges that traveling young presents. But it sheds light on how rewarding life becomes once we step out of our comfort zone.
"Youth is that time of your life when you are totally empowered to do whatever you want to do. Forget about the "yeah but..." and just do it, travel young, it will change you in ways that nothing else can or will."

AUSBroad: The Thrills and Downfalls of Studying Abroad
The first semester of my junior year I am abroad studying at the University of Wollongong in Australia. I started a blog, to document my travels and experiences abroad. It is more than any adventure I could ever imagine, and it must be shared. When I left in June, I traveled 10,000 miles and left behind my loving family, a beautiful warm Indiana summer, and the best Bloomington community including my wonderful Theta sisters. Enjoy!
